Christmas 2008

Since this is my very first Blog I'm not sure what to write. Every year my family gives each other a scrapbook page and a history or testimony and we read them to each other on Christmas. This year I had an extremely unhealthy year and I have decided to write letters to my family. I just want to make sure they know how I feel about them and life.

I love life and I love this beautiful world we live on. Every time I go out side and see the plants, birds, animals, people, sky, and so on I love it. When Blaine and I travel to the mountains of Idaho and I see the slender of it all I love it. I love spending time with my husband on our 4-wheelers and in our camper. I love our family reunions with my kids and their families it is like the highlight of my year. My family is everything to me. I love my crazy little dog Mitzy. I am so happy to have another Christmas with my family.

My Beautiful Grandchildren,
I want you to know how much this Grandma Atkinson loves you. I love you more than there are stars in the sky. When I was a little girl I wanted to have children of my own. And time went by so fast. And here I am with wonderful grandchildren and the blessing keep coming. .
I am trying everyday to reach that goal and I pray that you will do the same.
This Summer I was really sick and I came really close to passing on to our next life. And I saw many things of my life go before me. I saw the things I did good and the things I did bad. And it was not easy to see the bad and it gave me great joy to see the good. Try hard to always choose the right and you will never be sorry for it. I also became really close to my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I was blessed by your Grandpa Atkinson and my children with all the time they spent helping me. It was such a comfort and joy to have them around me.
I want you to know that I have a testimony on God our Eternal Father, and His son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, was put on this Earth to help us and guide us. It has helped me so much in every aspect of my life. I am thankful I met Grandpa Atkinson and we married for all Eternity September 18, 1975 in the Provo Temple. I love my family so much and they are my greatest treasures.
May God bless you. Always remember that Grandma loves you no matter what. And remember what a treasure you are to me. Live so we can be a family in eternity.
Grandma Brenda Brimhall Atkinson

My Extremely Wonderful Children,
I can never tell you how much I love you there are not enough stars, grains of sand, grass, trees to reach that amount. It was so wonderful to me each time I gave birth to one of you and you were left in my care. And each one was different and each one special. Wow that time flew by and now you have your own families. Each one of you chose a partner and started your families just like dad and I did so many years ago. I want you to know that I love you dearly. I also want you to know that you are my greatest treasures forever no matter what. Each one of you has achieve so much in your lives and I am really proud of the people you have become. You are kind, generous, caring, devoted, hardworking, forgiving, and the list goes on. Thank You for all the hours of time you gave to me when I was so very ill. I appreciate the many hours and things you did for me. I am so very happy I can spend another Christmas with you.
I have a testimony of God our Eternal Father, and of his Son Jesus Christ and of the Holy
Ghost. I also recognize what a great blessing The Church has been in our lives. I want you to work towards my goal of an eternal family. It is up to you now to make sure your children reach that goal to. Make sure they are able to attend church and learn the many things the Lord wants them to learn. It won’t hurt them it will only help them to become better people. You must work hard on your marriages. You must also make sure your spouses are achieving this goal too. Try to work towards a goal of a partnership in your marriage. You may think your marriage is great and that you love each other now. But when you are old and your spouse becomes your partner, companion, friend, your everything no matter what then you know you love each other. My mother use to say a woman gives 99%. But the reality is you must both give 100% . And it takes both people to make a great marriage and make your marriage complete. Some day your children will be out of your houses and you and your spouse will be alone. Life is busy for all of you now but it will slow down and you will find your spouse is the person you are taking care of and your spending time with. As your parent I want the best for my children. I want your lives to be blessed and happy and full. As I was telling Hailey the greatest gift I receive and remember are the times I spend with my family. I will always love you no matter what.
I love you Mother

My dear Sons and Daughter in- laws,

My dearest husband,
You are my sun and moon and everything. I thought the two years you where on your mission would never get over. And here we are married 33 years. As I was telling our children they have no idea what love really is until they have walked as many miles as we have. Thank you for taking care of me when I was so very ill. Thank you for being by my side and sleeping in that chair in the hospital. When I was so very sick and I didn’t know if I was going to make it I wished I could tell you that I love you and thank you for all the years and children we shared. I hoped that I have been a good wife for you. You have made my life so complete and wonderful. Some people think a home is a building but my home is where you are.
